An Alaskan Cruise Vacation Is For You

If you are seeking a cruise vacation that is absolutely breathtaking with is sparkling scenery, Alaska is the place for you. An Alaskan cruise is generally ideal during the months of May through September. This is a great way for you to escape the heat and enjoy the outdoors.

There are different packages you can purchase for your cruise to Alaska. Depending on exactly the type f experience you would like to walk away with having on your vacation. Among the packages is the inside package. This package allows you to visit more ports and spend slightly less time on the water. The ports that you will be visiting are Skagway, Glacier Bay and Juneau.

The other package is called the Gulf of Alaska cruise. If you decide to go with this package, you will be spending more time out at sea enjoying the views and even some of the wildlife. You will have the opportunity to see many glaciers and even take guided tours through some remote locations and the Denali National Park.

Once you have made the decision on the type of Alaskan cruise you want to go on, now you have to make the decision on the number of days you want to be on your cruise for. Typically, an Alaskan cruise is from 7 days to 14 days long. Your finances might be your weighing factor in determining the length of your cruise vacation. However, if you book early enough in advance you might be able to get a great deal on your vacation.

You should also consider the number of people that you would like to travel with while you are on your cruise. The smaller cruise ships generally travel with up to 150 guests and has the ability to go closer to the glaciers. On the other hand, if you feel more comfortable on a larger ship you have the option of traveling with a larger number of individuals anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand people. For the pampered traveler you will probably be happier aboard a larger cruise ship, enjoying the multiple amenities that are offered.

If you are seeking a lot of fun on land you can walk on a glacier, travel by air and look at the sights from a helicopter, or even experience riding on a dog sled. If watching the local wildlife is something you would like to do on your Alaskan vacation, you can view the whales and dolphins swimming in the open waters or look on land to find bears, wolverines and moose doing what they do in their natural habitats. A cruise vacation to scenic Alaska can be just what you have been searching for in a vacation.
